Somethings are so damn beautiful .

Threads Of Everything

Well this the reaction of Design project 1. The night I was making the report I got so tensed so I thought it is better to express that stress. Next day I thought that i wrote that under the influence of LSD(;)).

I see threads even when I am awake
Random thoughts and sanity at stake,
Hope my brains buffer won’t overflow
It is keeping me in a steady vertigo

I am not a saint, I am just a maverick
Floating through the space time fabric,
A fabric woven with threads of infinity,
A distorted reality, a trick of vanity

Study, study ....... (what else????)

I am fortunate to have the good Dr. Woon as my thesis advisor, but still i have a lot of work to do, there is so much to study . In the process you have some of your own demons to confront too. This is going to be a bumpy ride but I plan to enjoy it. I think I owe Ather alot because he's the one who asked me to create a blog. Looks like I am talking to my self in the never ending cycle.

Few pictures of the MILKY WAY

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milky_Way

It's raining, Man!

Ya it's raining and it's raining and I am stuck in the desert . It's a bit unusual to rain at the end of August in Karachi but as long as it doesn't cause much damage , it guess it's fine. God! I miss that so much. It may be one of the most chaotic and most over crowded cities of the planet but I love it. I pray and I hope that someday Karachi will the peace and prosperity that it deserves. May Allah keep my city and its people safe. Ameen!!!

Finding Utopia that would be mine

Well my search for the stars and undiscovered horizons has lead me to the people who are trying to build a practical Utopia, although I have my own definition of Utopia and I am trying to settle for this so called practical Utopia (AKA Masdar City) but my unreplenishable desire to see the worlds beyond still remains inside me and I am planning my strategy to reach the destination unknown, hopefully I will get there someday feeling both happy and content ( which by the way I am incapabale of ). Well the picture somewhat shows the road to the valley of stars where I belong.

Finally at MIST

It has been a long wait but after reaching at MIST it was worth waiting. The first few hours at AD airport is an interesting story , all four of us have to wait to collect our visas, the airport officials were a bit sluggish and at the end of the three hour period we finally got our visas which were at terminal 1 . So we reached our villas around 3 am in the morning, so tired of waiting at the airport i laid down and fell asleep. Next day I meet alot of new students , they all seemed very welcoming and exhuberant. It has been 5 days since I left Karachi but so far the experience has been a joy ride comprising of trips and social gatherings and iftar dinners etc. But the utopia that i was looking for isn,t there and the most import things of all -the love for my family and my home town forces me to miss them alot. Since,

THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Small Steps.....

I have been thinking and thinking that most of the time we try to accomplish something big whether it is about ambitions, job,  career, success, or some legacy. What we usually forget or ignore is that small steps can be fruitful and sometimes the thrill of reaching the goal itself is a lot more enjoyable and valuable than the goal itself. For example , wipe off someones tears, or put a smile on someones face,  saving some animal in distress, enjoying a cool evening appreciating the nature around you, helping out your neighbour etc.

We have forgotten the joys that we can get in doing something which to us, seem meaningless or worthless. most of us have even forgot to smile - a genuine smile that truly shows the happiness and content in your heart , may be I am wrong we have even forgot how to be content. Well we do need to start taking those small steps and start taking pleasure in those small precious moments.

My Favourite Movies

ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND
.........
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd
........
The title is taken from the poem Eloisa to Abelard by Alexander Pope, the story of a tragic love affair, where forgetfulness became the heroine's only comfort. Words like Lacuna, Blue ruin, Night Picnic, Montauk will remind a person this great movie, those who like Jim Carry have never expected him to deliver such an intense performance, in the end you will end up appreciating the story, cast, acting, and the on screen chemistry between Kate Winslet (who I believe is the next Meryl Streep or the best actress of her generation and definitely deserves an Oscar for this role). Those who like movies about relationships and unconcious love, this movie is a real treat for them . I watched this movie 20 0r 30 times(no joke).

My Rating: 96/100

Remembering the Night Sky

These pictures are for those who have forgotten to appreciate how beautiful the night sky is. These few pictures are to motivate people to take some time out to appreciate and enjoy the night sky instead of watching a movie or playing a computer game. Fell the air on your face that will remind you to that you still are human instead of a 9 - 5 clockwork humanoid. My suggestion is go out tonight along with a walkman or an mp3 player, my recommendation for music is listen Pavane pour une Infante Défunte (William Orbit Remix) by Maurice Ravel , Field of view by William Orbit , with these tracks I bet you will enjoy the night even more or you can can use any other songs that you like. Have Fun!!!

ALL PRAISES ARE DUE TO "HIM"...........

ALL PRAISES TO "HIM" (ALLAH TAALA) FOR CREATING COSMOS AND FILL IT WITH BEAUTY , LIGHT AND COLORS.

GUIDING STARS

Stars brighter than ever

Be a skeptic or be a believer

Northern star is shinning bright

It's there for you to guide

Or when you’re lost in dark, what you see?

Nothing but burning candles in black blue sea

Therefore live your life without regret

The truth is out there that you’ll get

Then you find that the truth is nothing but

That you are made of star dust

In search of truth when you go too far

Then you will also become a guiding star

This may be your destiny and fate

That ray of light will take you to heaven’s gate

My Favourite Movies

BLADE RUNNER

One of those movies that is not easy to digest and requires multiple sittings. Vangelis did an amazing job in making the score. Ridley Scott gave us a very believable picture of LA in its futuristic and dystopian form. I like everything about this movie the story, cast, acting , sets, background music. It is a must see for all sci fi fans. Following are my favourite lines from the movie.

"...I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... "

My Rating: 90/100

Meet Jack And Jill

THe first one is the picture of their mother. You can indimidate Jack(the white and black one) easily but Jill - there is nothing that can scare her. She is not even afraid of her mother and she is exactly like her maternal aunt. She reminds me of my other cat "Bullet" , that's what we used to call him, unfortunately he died in 2004 in a road accident.

Remembering "The X Files"

Whether it's about fighting the future or trusting no one , whether it's about looking for the truth that is out there or about wanting to believe. We all agree that we can't imagine 90s without the X Files which gave us two of the greatest characters of Mulder and Scully in the sci-fi /mystery genre, we still cherish the car chases, the fear of the unknown, the platonic chemistry between Mulder and Scully , the super soldiers, the alien hybrid and the monster of the week. And I am thankful to Chris Carter for creating such a superb TV show.

I am now a bit free to send the post after a very very hectic week. Talking about the dream , i have always dreamt about working in a place like above (La Palma Island). In fact I am working very hard to get there , hopefully i will get there someday both to fulfil my dream and gazing at the night sky not to mention enjoying the sea of clouds.

A Dream.....

Looking at this picture sometimes gives you the feeling that you are inside a neverending dream , a dream .......
